KYLA SHELBY

New 18 year old UK artist KYLA SHELBY releases her debut EP on May 29th.
Kyla wrote her first song aged 9, and developed a passion for singing inspired by trail blazing female artists including Raye and Adele, and timeless talents such as Amy Winehouse and Eva Cassidy.

After long searches for a collaborator Kyla was introduced to producer/ songwriter Nigel Stonier (Sam Smith, Waterboys) 
and the pair began writing together last year. The result is this new 5 track EP. 

​

Possessed of a voice that delivers passion and power on uptempo material, then swoops down to a near whisper on intimate ballads, Kyla is a striking new talent who defies you not to listen and be moved. 

Her writing is laden with honesty and raw emotion.

Producer/multi-instrumentalist Stonier assembled a small but stellar cast of supporting musicians with Jamiroquai's Rob Harris on guitar, Matt Burke on trumpet, widely known engineer/programmer 
Seadna McPhail recording and mixing, 
and 19 year old Egan Stonier arranging and playing strings.

 

The EP is available on CD and all streaming platforms from May 29.
